Anthony Gigante

Biographical notes

Anthony Gigante, was born in Lecce (Italy) in 1935. After taking a high school degree from Istituto d'Arte in Lecce, he completed his studies at Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, the most prestigious italian arts academy, where he was trained by two renowned artists: Primo Conti, painting master, and Viani, engraving master. For many years he taught arts at Lice Artistico II in Milan.

Since his first exhibition in 1955, he has been holding a large number of personal exhibitions, that gained full appreciation from public and successfull reviewers. He received prestigious prizes and acknowledgements at important national and a international arts shows. Some of his paintings belong to Italian and international private collections.

Since 1960 he has been cooperating with various theaters, institutions and associations for the creation of scenography settings, whose sketches are often exhibited in arts shows.

His name is listed in major annual reviews, magazines, arts catalogues and specialised pubblications.
